Linux ACPI client is a small command-line program that attempts to replicate the functionality of the 'old' apm command on ACPI systems. It includes battery and thermal information. This program is distributed under the terms of the GNU GPL.
Joey Hess has taken over Debian maintainership of this package, so I will not be distributing Debian packages any more. His packages should be considered the authorative version

"/usr/bin/acpi" is in the default installation of Ubuntu, Fedora, and most other mainstream Linux distributions, which is kind of neat.
